About this Event

Cognitive processing therapy (CPT) for PTSD in SMI is a specific type of cognitive behavioral therapy that has been effective in reducing symptoms of PTSD that have developed after experiencing a variety of traumatic events CPT is generally delivered over 12 sessions and helps individuals learn how to challenge and modify unhelpful beliefs related to the trauma. In so doing, the patient creates a new understanding and conceptualization of the traumatic event so that it reduces its ongoing negative effects on current life.

Dr. Pallavi Nishith has 21 years of experience working in the field of trauma and PTSD. She is currently working in the capacity of Staff Psychologist at Places for People, Inc., and in this capacity is conducting clinical, research, and training work in Trauma, and PTSD in Serious Mental Illness (SMI).

Please note: the registration and last day to cancel will be November 18, 2021. 

Places for People is a Health Care organization and requires the proper use of a mask upon entrance to our facility. A mask must be worn throughout the event. Parking and entering the building instructions will be emailed to you at a later date.

****ONLY therapists who are licensed or provisionally licensed and under supervision should practice CPT. Therefore, we ask that only those who are licensed or provisionally licensed therapists sign-up for this training.

CEU Guidelines for Illume In-person Training:

• All attendees must attend the full time of the event.

• All attendees are required to be registered before the event.

• All attendees must complete the event CEU questions during the registration and sign-in sheet at the start of the training.

• Please, arrive to the training 5-10 minutes prior to the start time to ensure that any

potential difficulties are worked out prior to the event start.

• Attendees must attend the full event time in order to receive continuing education. If an attendee is not present at the start of the training, leaves for a significant time during the training or leaves the training early, CEUs may not be awarded.

• If an attendee experiences any issue that would keep them from being in the training from start time to end time, continuing education cannot be awarded. Illume retains the attendance list for auditing purposes.

• Please allow at least 14 business days to receive your CEU certificate of attendance.

CEUs will only be disbursed via email to individuals that have followed the guidelines.
