CPP-ASPIRE Conference: The Education Track and SoTL in Politics and IR

You are warmly invited to the CPP-ASPIRE Conference on 12 June 2026!

UCL’s Centre for the Pedagogy of Politics has teamed up with the ASPIRE Network to host an event taking place at a pivotal moment in the ongoing transformation and development of education in our discipline.

The conference will focus on the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) in Politics and International Relations, and in particular on the role and significance of the education track in the discipline. We will also explore student agency and research-led learning, creative pedagogies, the politics of teaching, AI in the Politics and IR classroom, inclusion, positionality, and the relational classroom.

UCL's Department of Political Science (home of the CPP) is turning the big three-oh this year. There will be an informal garden party in the evening to celebrate this momentous milestone - and, naturally, to celebrate the CPP's status as one of the biggest and most active education-focused clusters in the country.
