This event is planned because respondents to the Nottinghamshire Alliance Training Hub (NATH) Primary Care Training Needs Analysis (TNA) 2024/25 suggested the topic as a local training need.
This is event is for staff working in Primary Care in Nottingham & Nottinghamshire
The importance of the first consultation
How having a good initial consultation is vital for the rest of their eczema care
Helping patients understand and manage their condition independently.
Using enough emollients and how to communicate this to patients
How to choose appropriate steroids, and common questions answered - what about on the face? How long to use? Worries about pigmentation? what about kids?
This event is for consulting clinicians in Primary Care such as GPs, ANPs, ACPs.
For above job roles working across Bassetlaw, Mid-Notts, Nottingham City and South Notts.

Dr Patel is an established Consultant Dermatologist specialising in skin cancer, skin surgery, mohs surgery, laser as well as general dermatology. He sits on the Specialist MDT for skin cancer. He graduated from Nottingham Medical school and completed his medical rotation at the Nottingham University Hospitals trust.
During this time he gained membership of the Royal College of Physicians. He then specialised in dermatology and also undertook a years fellowship training in Mohs surgery, skin cancer and laser. Dr Patel has published peer review articles and book chapters extensively and is currently involved in research projects.
Dr Patel sees all kinds of dermatological disorders such as skin cancer, pre-cancer and sun damage, mole checks, benign lesions and removal, acne, eczema, psoriasis, and other rashes. He performs skin surgery and also Mohs Micrographic surgery for skin cancer. He also removes all types of benign lesions as well as performing cosmetic mole removal.

- Please register with your nhs.net email where possible. If the event is oversubscribed, priority may be given to those who have registered with NHS addresses.
- You will receive a certificate for your attendance. Please allow two weeks for this to be delivered to your inbox. We would advise checking your junk mail before contacting NATH for your certificate at [email protected]
If you cancel with more than 5 working days' notice, there will be no charge. If you cancel within 5 working days and we cannot fill the space, then you/your organisation will still be charged. If you do not attend then you/your organisation will be charged.
If you are leaving your organisation or you have a member of staff due to leave and you/they are booked onto a chargeable course with us, it is the organisations responsibility to inform NATH of this. This is to ensure that you/they are removed from any chargeable course with more than 5 working days before the event date and therefore will not incur any costs. If you/they are removed within 5 working days of the chargeable course then the cost of the place will be chargeable to the organisation.
The meeting will be broadcast on the Zoom platform. You will receive a link at least 48 hours ahead of the event which you can register on to receive the Zoom link to join the event. We recommend participants log on via a computer or laptop for an optimal experience. You will be required to log into Zoom to verify your identity - please allow a few minutes for this before the event.
