Former member of NeedtoBreathe and Grammy nominated songwriter Bo Rinehart, aka COY ROY, brings the brand of boyish innocence and raw honesty that fans have become familiar with during his nearly twenty year run as a primary songwriter and multi-instrumentalist with his former band NEEDTOBREATHE. During his tenure in NTB, he wrote staples such as "Brother" (feat. Gavin DeGraw), "Hard Love", "Multiplied", and "Something Beautiful" and dozens of others. The early musical influences of Paul Simon and Peter Gabriel contributed to the embodiment of the art rock genre for Coy Roy. Current influences from a spectrum of like-minded artists such as Noah Kahan, Brandon Flowers, Bon Iver, and Madison Cunningham show up in the mastery of storytelling and connection with listeners. Reintroducing himself as Coy Roy, the artist's debut single "I'm Right Here" champions the story of surviving childhood sexual abuse and gives voice to others. The "I'm Right Here" song and video reflect awareness and reconciliation with self through inner child work. Latest single, "Doing the Best I Can" recounts the struggles of trauma related coping mechanisms in adulthood and the ongoing journey to self-healing. The music of Coy Roy instills raw emotion and creates visceral experiences with beautiful melodic landscapes amidst disorganized sonic rhythms.
