WHO:

Shared Harvest is a social enterprise founded by Black women doctors who believe in spreading compassion through wellness, service and relief. Shared Harvest launched its empathy-driven (empatech™) free telehealth platform to address the digital divide and the disproportionate effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on those impacted by racial inequalities compounded by social, economic, and health inequities. Since March of 2020, the myCovidMD™ initiative utilizes the skills of culturally-competent volunteers and clinicians to most effectively and courteously care for individuals who face barriers when seeking medical assistance.

Black Women for Wellness believes in the strength and wisdom of the community and allies. By advocating for African women’s health through membership on boards, commissions, and task forces, and by providing education centered on illness prevention and health restoration, they are shifting culture and community health impacts. Black Women for Wellness aims to expand healthcare access, reduce exposure to toxic chemicals and products, and build political advocacy in California and beyond.

WHAT:

Shared Harvest | myCovidMD™ and Black Women for Wellness are partnering together to bring Small Business Saturday block party and a vaccination pop-up event to Leimert Park to promote the circulation of Black dollars as well as help community members protect themselves against COVID-19. Small Business Saturday is an opportunity to combine two aspects of health and well-being by offering a space for Black women business owners (without brick & mortar) to set up shop and invite a community of medical providers to offer physical health check-ins. There will be a fitness class, a live performance, food, vendors and more. Additionally, experts from the Shared Harvest | myCovidMD™ network will take part in a live fireside chat to encourage an updated education about the COVID-19 pandemic, answer questions about booster shots, and work to support our communities.

Shared Harvest | myCovidMD™ believes in vaccinating the entire ecosystem to support those most vulnerable in our communities. All participants will be screened by qualified, culturally competent healthcare providers. All vaccinations will be administered by certified health professionals. COVID-19 vaccines are now available to everyone age 5 and up. Pediatric Pfizer (5-11 yrs old), Pfizer, Moderna, J&J will be offered.
