About this Event

September 24, 2026- Learn the art of hand beading with Golden Eagle Marwan Pleasant. Marwan is a fashion designer, artist, and Mardi Gras Indian based in New Orleans, La. He grew up masking with the Golden Eagles tribe of Uptown, learning the intricate craft of beading from his grandfather, Big Chief Monk Boudreaux. His fashion brand, Marlence, merges Black Masking culture with contemporary design, bringing the tradition to a diverse audience. Marwan and his art have been featured globally, from the Hôtel de Ville, in Paris, France, to The Museum of Modern Art, in New York City. Currently, Marwan is teaching master classes in his community, and creating unique art for exhibitions and private collections!
