This summer I will be completing an internship in Ecuador! I made this page to help raise money for my trip and to share updates and pictures from my time in Ecuador. This internship will fulfill my study abroad requirement for the Murray State honors college. I’ll be shadowing and assisting a pediatric occupational therapist in a clinical setting treating children with diagnoses like down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and autism. I could also practice hydro (pool) and hippotherapy (horse-back riding therapy). The study abroad program I’m traveling with is World Endeavors. I will be in Quito from July 10th until August 7th. While In Ecuador, I’ll live in a host home and use public transportation to get to and from my placement site. I’m looking forward to improving my Spanish fluency and learning the culture and traditions of Ecuador while living with an Ecuadorian family! In early June I will receive more specific details on my internship assignment and host family. This is an amazing opportunity for me to gain professional experience in occupational therapy. Please help me cover the costs of this trip! My goal is $4,000 in order to cover the costs of the World Endeavors fees and flight/travel expenses.
