Experience the art of touch and relaxation with this long time running, Mixy Made event designed for two. Bring a partner and discover the techniques and skills to relieve tension, relax muscles, and revive the body using the power of your hands.

In this hands-on, two hour class, you and your partner will explore the art of massage in a fun, engaging, and supportive setting. Both partners will have the opportunity to give and receive a soothing massages. We’ll guide you through methods that focus on the head, neck, shoulders, back and legs teaching techniques to ease muscle pain, melt away stress, and promote deep relaxation. From Swedish to Thai inspired massage styles, you'll start in a chair and transition to soft cushions on the floor, surrounded by plush fur rugs in a candlelit, zen-like oasis. This class is designed to empower everyday people with practical skills to relax and rejuvenate while connecting with their partner in the comfort of their own home using minimal equipment.

This workshop is open to all types of couples and partnerships.
One ticket covers both participants. You must bring a partner to join the experience. To keep this experience intimate and comfortable, space is limited, so be sure to reserve your spot early!

You must be 18+ years

Please arrive 10-15 mins before you class to allow time locating the space and to get situated.

What is the location of the event?

The Couples Massage Workshop takes place in The Chapel, a unique and intimate space tucked away on the 2nd floor of the Center for Performing Arts in Minneapolis. This eclectic building is home to a vibrant mix of performance, practice, and community event spaces. The Chapel, itself with its tall ceilings, will be our candlelit oasis with a warm, aromatic atmosphere. A zen setting that adds a special touch to your experience.
Who is the instructor for the couples massage?

TaVanni Singleton, founder of Mixy Events, holds a degree in Health Education with a focus on Community Health. For over 10 years, TaVanni has studied various massage techniques, including Thai massage and reflexology, through classes, training, and independent research. Although she is not a licensed massage therapist, she’s an experienced massage enthusiast and educator focused on teaching easy-to-learn techniques for relaxation anyone can do at home.

What items are necessary the event?

Clothing: Participants must wear clothing throughout the event. No nudity. We recommend sleeveless tops (like bandeaus, tank tops, or sports bras) paired with loose, comfortable bottoms (such as sweatpants or yoga pants). Keep in mind, oils may stain some clothing, so dress accordingly.
Oil: We provide a selection of massage oils, including lavender, and unscented options. Feel free to bring your own if you prefer.

Medical conditions or injury

Participants should consult with their physician before attending this workhop. Also please make sure your partner is aware of any injuries or sensitive areas on your body before starting. Participants should be able to comfortably get down to the floor and apply significant pressure during the massage. Several moves involve squatting and kneeling. Keep in mind that a waiver must be viewed and signed before the start of the workshop. Visit www.eventmixy.com to view the waiver beforehand and sign in person.

Can I attend if I am pregnant?

This workshop is not suitable for pregnant individuals due to the massage techniques involved. While prenatal massage can be beneficial, some techniques and trigger points used in this class may not be safe during pregnancy. Please consult with a licensed prenatal massage therapist for specialized care.

Parking: We prioritize selecting venues with convenient, free parking for your ease. The Center for Performing Arts normally has ample free parking on the street.
