Trees are resilient: they can withstand changes in weather, pest attacks, damage from impact, etc. Some can survive for thousands of years. Standing still while everything around them changes. Our lives, on the contrary are volatile and it is easy to lose heart when things are going wrong.
Trees could be a symbol of hope. This is what we propose to you to do during this year's countryside retreat. We will contemplate the tree as a symbol of life and hope in the midst of crisis. During the retreat, we will prioritise our time in nature and become aware of how God speaks to us through this beautiful part of the created world. We will have input sessions, personal prayer, time in the countryside and also outdoor masses.
