This workshop will explore country dances from eighteenth- and early nineteenth-century dance collections from different countries. Thanks to the Tasgadh grant funded by Creative Scotland, Matthiew Shiel will provide live music for the workshop.
The special theme for this session is the Grand Tour, inspired by summer holiday destinations throughout the centuries, including Spain, Portugal, Italy, France, and others. The aim is to try unusual formations and figures with popular continental tunes.
The workshop is open to all. The dances will be walked through.
Partner is not required. There is a short tea break.
Wear comfortable clothes and shoes (no heels).
The workshop is at Inch House Community Centre and is bookable via the Edinburgh Adult Education Programme.
