ABOUT THE MATINEE
Our matinee consists of two family-friendly parts. All are welcome to participate in one or both!
? Workshop (12:00 pm – 1:00 pm)
Through a mix of group games and individual activities, kids and teens will learn the fundamental principles of improvisation in a supportive, fun, and inclusive environment led by Anthony Francis, the founder of Improv U and an experienced professional improviser and teacher. Anthony will guide participants through a series of dynamic exercises specifically tailored to their age group (6 to 13 years old, see FAQ below for more info)
? Performance (1:15 pm – 2:30 pm)
Join Countdown Improv Festival's superstar performers as they bring improv games, stories, and songs to life, completely made up on the spot, and inspired by YOUR suggestions! Kids who participated in the workshop are welcome and encouraged to come up and perform with our experienced professional improvisers. (Though, if they are shy and just want to watch, that's great, too!)

FAQ
? What's the recommended age group for the workshop?
The workshop is geared towards kids ranging in age from 6 to 13, though we can accommodate slightly younger and slightly older kids. Please get in touch with us if you have any questions or want to run anything by us. You can reach us at [email protected].
For the show, all ages are welcome, including kids younger than the recommended age group. The show will be G-rated and family-friendly!
? How much are tickets?
The event is ticketed in two parts, or as a combined package. The workshop is $10 per youth participant and the performance is $10. (We do ask adults to buy a ticket for themselves and their kid(s) for the show, so we can get an accurate headcount and make sure we have enough seats.)

? How does the "families" portion work?
Last year, we encouraged parents and family members to stay and either take part in the workshop alongside their kids, or watch and support in the audience. This created a great community atmosphere, and gave kids a feeling of safety and security as they tried improv for the first time. Please stay for the workshop if you can—though if you want to drop your kid(s) off and feel they would be comfortable with this, that works for us, too. Please just let us know either way by sending us a quick email so we can plan.
