Countdown Improv Festival

The Countdown Improv Festival triumphantly returns to the HCC Ybor Performing Arts Building in the Ybor City neighborhood of Tampa for our sixth big year! Our 2022 festival will feature 65 different trio, duo, and solo improv acts from all over the United States. Join us for four nights of hilarious and unforgettable improv comedy!

This year's performances will take place across three stages at HCC Ybor City from Thursday, August 11 through Saturday, August 13. The festival kicks off with a very special hybrid night of online + live performances at the MAR St. Pete on Wednesday, August 10.

We're offering three types of tickets for this year's festival. All tickets are general admission, reserved seating is not available. Buy early to secure the best price and reserve your seat!

Weekend passes offer audience members the chance to see any and all festival shows over all four nights. Weekend passes are a significant savings over the cost of purchasing nightly passes. If you are considering attending more than one night of shows this year, this is the value buy!

Pricing: $55 early bird (through June 30) / $60 (through July 31) / $65 (after August 1)

Nightly passes can be purchased for individual show nights, and are redeemable up until the final block of the night. The pricing structure for nightly passes is as follows:

Wednesday night pass for shows at the MAR St. Pete: $15 (special opening night price!)

Thursday night pass: $25 early bird (through June 30) / $30 (through July 31) / $35 (after August 1)

Friday night pass: $30 early bird (through June 30) / $35 (through July 31) / $40 (after August 1)

Saturday night pass: $30 early bird (through June 30) / $35 (through July 31) / $40 (after August 1)

Individual show block tickets can be purchased for $20 each. These tickets are only good for the block for which they are purchased; if you wish to stay and watch more improv, come see us at the box office to upgrade your ticket to a nightly or weekend pass.

Where is the festival located?

The festival is located in the Ybor City neighborhood at the HCC Ybor Performing Arts Building, 1411 E. 11th Avenue, Tampa, FL 33605.

Online and livestreamed performances will take place at the MAR St. Pete (2309 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg, FL 33713) on Wednesday, August 10.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

There are no ID or minimum age requirements; however, improvisational comedy can be unpredictable and mature themes can arise unexpectedly. Basically, if you wouldn't bring your kids to a PG-13 movie, you probably shouldn't bring them to the festival.

Will food and beverage be available?

With the exception of bottled water, food and beverage will not be available, and are not allowed inside the theater, so please plan accordingly.

How will you mitigate the spread of COVID-19 at this event?

Masks will be made available for those that wish to wear one. Hand sanitizer will also be made available. If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, we ask that you stay home to protect the health and safety of our performers, attendees, and festival staff.

Additional measures may be implemented as we approach the date of our event. We will update our website and this page with those details, and communicate directly with existing ticketholders on any updates to our policies.

What is your latecomers' policy?

Ticketholders who arrive more than 10 minutes after the scheduled start time for a given block of shows will be seated at the discretion of management.
