About this Event
Cougar Mountain: A Pacific Northwestern Screenplay Staged Reading
Join us in person for an unforgettable dive into the pioneer Pacific Northwest with Cougar Mountain. This Mother's Day special event brings to life an original screenplay writen by local screenwriter, Elena Anderson (UW Drama alum, graduate of The Film School, and proud Tacoma native). A quirky tall tale packed with suspense and survivalism, it tells how a tough and beautiful pioneer woman braves the wilderness of Mt. Rainier to track down the furocious creature terrorizing her town. Whether you're a film buff, an outdoors enthusiast, or just love a good story, come experience the magic of the PNW through this captivating telling and stay for the Q&A feedback session with the actors and writer afterwards. Light refreshments will also be provided (no alcohol). Don't miss out on an afternoon full of twists and adventure, and don't forget to bring your mum!
Disclaimer: Though the script is only read verbally by actors, they will describe some western movie grit, gun violence, and a bit of horror - on the high cusp of a PG-13 rating. Please don't bring your littles.
There is free street parking by The Mountaineers building, in the residential areas near 30th Street.
Seating is also limited. Tickets are $17.00 plus tax/fees online through Eventbrite only, paid in advance of the show (to help the screenwriter break even!), so please snag your audience spot before it's gone.
