What happens when love becomes an experiment?
In Mozart’s razor-sharp comedy Così fan tutte (or The School for Lovers), two young officers believe in their fiancées’ perfect fidelity, until a cynical philosopher proposes a wager to prove otherwise.
They return in disguise, targeting each other’s fiancées under a controlled experiment in temptation. As the lovers unknowingly pursue one another under false pretenses, what begins as a playful bet spirals into something far more unsettling, and revealing.
