Costume Gala

Our First Annual Costume Gala is more than just a night out; it’s an experience and a celebration of what the arts can bring to a community. For one unforgettable evening, art comes to life. Reimagine what you wear. Transform yourself into a living work of art. Connect with your community, discover new forms of creativity, dance, and experience something unexpected. But while you’re enjoying the evening, you’re also making a difference.
Your support helps the Arts Council of Wayne County continue creating opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to experience the arts. From classes and exhibitions to community programs and creative experiences, your participation helps us keep the arts accessible, welcoming, and open to everyone in Wayne County. Because when you support the arts, you’re not just attending an event, you’re helping build a more creative, connected, and vibrant Wayne County.
This Year’s Theme: Avant-Garde
This year’s Gala invites guests to transform themselves into living works of art through experimental fashion, sculptural silhouettes, unexpected materials, and dramatic styling. Come ready to push the boundaries of traditional costume and fashion and make your look a work of art. During the evening, we’ll award Best Wearable Art to one standout creation.
An Evening of Art, Entertainment & Community
Bid on original artwork during our live auction, browse a silent auction featuring items donated by local businesses, watch artists create in real time, and compete for Best Wearable Art. Enjoy live art demonstrations, a live auction, and a DJ with live music and an open dance floor. Guests will also enjoy heavy hors d'oeuvres throughout the evening. At the end of the night, you’ll have the chance to take home a unique piece of artwork or an unforgettable experience through our auctions. Most importantly, your night out supports the Arts Council of Wayne County and helps us continue bringing art, creativity, and cultural experiences to our community.
