About this Event
As the rising cost of living sweeps across the UK, God is calling the church to prayer and action. Join a powerful movement as the church comes together to pray, to lament, and to intercede to our mighty God, asking how we can make a difference in His name.
Afternoon Listen and Pray sessions - All In Person:
2pm - A Great Divide: The Disproportionate Effect of Poverty on Minority Ethnic Groups. Bishop Mike Royal, General Secretary, Churches Together in England.

In this session, Mike will unpack some of the impacts of poverty felt by minority ethnic groups and how these are heightened by race. It is not only unfair but a great divide in our society leading to serious hardship including hunger, destitution, cold and debt.

3:30pm - A Torn Safety Net: How the Cost of Living Crisis Threatens its own last line of defence. Hannah Rich, Senior Researcher, Theos.

We are all aware of the impact on the cost of living for individuals and families but Hannah will explore in this session how this is a systemic problem, affecting the fabric of civil society and faith groups, including the church. Churches across the nation provide support for millions but themselves are struggling with economic and social insecurity.

5pm - A Governing Church: Raising your Voice to See Change in a Time of Crisis. Pastor Leke Sanusi, Chairman and Head of Mission, RCCG UK.

What does a “governing church” look like? RCCG has a vision to see Christians involved in the seven spheres of influence in society and how each of us can respond to the cost of living crisis by being a Christian voice in the places we live and work to influence for change and make Jesus known

7pm Lament to Hope, Evening Prayer Event, with headline speaker Paul Williams, CEO of Bible Society. In Person & Live Streamed for those who wish to attend remotely.

We will worship and call upon our God as we intercede for all those affected by the cost of living crisis. Join this session live or please join us via live stream if you are unable to travel to central London.

Feel free to partake in as many (or all) of the above as you are able by selecting the options you wish to attend when booking your ticket, indicating whether you also wish to attend the larger evening time of corporate prayer which will feature the CAP Sunday Lament cards.
