Cosmic sound is a term used to describe a style of synthesizer-heavy, percussive, and minimalist music curated from a variety of genres, with a special emphasis on music produced during the golden age of studios in the 1970s and 1980s. The first session will explore cosmic sound in African or African-influenced musical genres such as Jazz, Soul, Funk, Disco, Afrobeat, Zouk, Gwo Ka, Dub, and Reggae. It will feature music from Cameroon, Mali, Kenya, Gabon, Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana, Haiti, Guadeloupe, Trinidad & Tobago, US, and more.
