The Corps of Discovery Expedition/Lewis & Clark Expedition landed where Kaw Point Park is today on June 26th, 1804. The expedition camped here for three days, before continuing on their journey up the Missouri River to find a water route to the Pacific.
Events open to the public:
10:00am Backyard Bass - fun activity for adults and kids to practice casting with fishing poles complements of Fish & Wildlife and a live Macro invertebrate Exhibit.
11:30am "Lewis and Clark in the Midwest” talk with a park ranger from the Lewis and Clark National Historic Park in Omaha.
12:30pm Tour of Kaw Point Park with focus on the Corps of Discovery's 1804 visit.
