About this Event
Thank you for thinking of Sussex Wildlife Trust for your staff volunteering days. We would be delighted to organise a bespoke session for you and your colleagues through our 'Wild Work Days' environmental team building programme.
Conservation Day: Step into nature and help Sussex be a place where people and wildlife can thrive together. Activities will include: digging up Red Valerian, a non-native species of plant. Physical conservation work is the main activity of the day whilst learning about the habitat and wildlife within it.
We do charge for these bespoke events to cover staff time, resources and insurance. The minimum number of people we can run a session for is 6 people with a maximum of 12.
Small Group (6-12): £700 + VAT
(Prices shown on tickets is for deposit only)
A 10% deposit (exclusive of VAT), plus booking fee, is required to confirm your space. VAT will be charged on the final invoice for the full amount.

Toilets: None in the immediate vicinity.
Accessibility: This event takes place at Dogs Hill end. If you have any specific access needs that you would like to discuss, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
What should I wear?
- Please wear clothes suitable for the weather and you don’t mind getting dirty. Layers are usually best so you can add or remove as necessary.
- You will need old clothes and work gloves.
- Have sturdy boots or wellies to wear whilst taking part in the activity.
What do I need to bring with me?
- Please bring refillable bottles for drinking water. We are an environmental charity and highly discourage single-use plastic bottles.
- If you are attending a full day session, please bring a packed lunch, ideally in a reusable container.
- It's worth bringing cameras and binoculars if you have them, and we'd love to see your photos, stories and blogs about your day with us.
- Don’t forget any Medic*tion you may need. You are advised to be up to date with your tetanus immunisation.
- We recommend you bring suntan lotion/insect repellent as required.
- At most sites there is no facility to leave bags/valuables. We recommend bringing your personal items in a rucksack which can be easily carried with you.
What is provided by Sussex Wildlife Trust?
- We will provide all tools as well as all safety equipment required.
- We will show you how to use all tools safely.
- A first aider will be available and all volunteers are covered by our insurance when with us.
What if my session is cancelled?
- Most activities will go ahead in rain, snow, wind and sometimes even sunshine! You will be informed by an email or phone call if your session is unable to go ahead and a new date will be arranged. If you are not contacted, the event will be going ahead as planned.
Cancellation Policy: Please note that cancellation and rescheduling should be by exception only and no later than 10 working days before the arranged date to avoid unnecessary charges (i.e. your employer or funder may incur a charge for cancellations with less than 10 working days’ notice). Please apply the same notice with any changes to number of people which are subject to a minimum charge.
