About this Event

Corporate & Team‑Building Workshops

Matrilineal Heirlooms offers bespoke workshops for community organisations, clubs, and schools, providing experiential learning sessions where participants explore textile heritage through hands‑on fibre crafts, designed for team‑building, wellbeing, creative away‑days, and seasonal celebrations. These private sessions can be tailored for Christmas, New Year, International Women’s Day, summer socials, or any event.

We provide hands‑on textile craft workshops in your space in:

  • Crochet
  • Knitting
  • Needle Tatting
  • Cross‑stitch
  • Embroidery
  • Sashiko

Fibre crafts are widely recognised for their mental‑health benefits, supporting relaxation, focus, and meditative calm. These slow, tactile practices reduce stress, improve concentration, and create a shared sense of achievement making them ideal for team‑building and workplace wellbeing.

All workshops use natural fibres and highlight the heritage of women’s textile arts, offering a unique blend of craft, culture, and restorative creativity.

Matrilineal Heirlooms provides all materials and tools, including individual craft kits for each participant. Employees keep their kits after the session, giving them a lasting, meaningful reminder of the experience and a way to continue the practice at home. Because each participant receives a full kit, confirming the number of attendees in advance is essential to ensure that everyone has the correct materials to work with during the session.

How Corporate Booking Works

Your company books one of the pricing tiers.
After booking, simply email us to confirm:

  • Preferred date
  • Preferred time
  • Preferred craft type (crochet, knitting, cross‑stitch, embroidery, sashiko, weaving)
  • Number of participants

Minimum age for participation is 16 years old. This ensures that all attendees can safely handle the tools, follow the techniques, and fully benefit from the hands‑on nature of fibre‑craft workshops.

Health & Safety Statement

By registering for this workshop, participants acknowledge that weaving involves the use of tools with sharp or pointed components. Attendees are responsible for handling all equipment with care. The organiser cannot be held liable for injuries resulting from the improper or unsafe use of tools. By purchasing a ticket, attendees confirm that they are in good health, able to handle sharp items responsibly throughout the session, and accept personal responsibility for any injuries arising from the misuse or mishandling of equipment.

Refund policy

Refunds are offered up to 7 days before the workshop. No refunds or rescheduling can be provided after this point, as each place is reserved exclusively for you and class capacity is extremely limited. You may transfer your ticket to another person if you cannot attend. Ticket purchase indicates acceptance of this policy.
