Join us for a musical celebration of the 100th anniversary of the laying of our church's cornerstone!This service of Choral Evensong will be sung by the St. Philip’s Chancel Choir, with organist Jackson Morton and special guests under the direction of Dr. Brittnee Siemon. It will feature four-hand compositions for piano and organ, a Magnificat setting dedicated to the Rev. Elizabeth Roles, poetic texts by the Rev. Dr. Judith A. Davis, and new music by composers Thomas Rex Harrison and Jesse Kaiser.
Additional music includes Richard Sanders’ Preces and Responses and Paul Smith’s Nunc dimittis, as well as Gwyneth Walker’s Let the Life I’ve Lived Speak for Me, which will be conducted by choral scholar alumna Tamra Rouse Sutton.
We’ll be joined by Margaret Templeton, collaborative pianist for the Greenville Chorale, Bart Gilleland, bass, Brooke Mathieu, soprano, and several choral scholar alumni.
Please join us for a joyful hour of music, readings, and prayer. Admission is free and all are welcome. Refreshments will be offered after the service.
