About this Event

Join the Detroit Public Library - Main Branch for an inspirational discussion of the life of Cornelius Henderson. He was the second African American to earn a Civil Engineering degree from the U-M in 1911. He was employed by the Canadian Bridge Company as a structural steel engineer. He Worked on the construction of both the Ambassador Bridge and the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel. He was also the designer of the Detroit Memorial Park Cemetery, which was the first Black owner and operated cemetery in Michigan. His entire life was spent on fighting for social justice for African Americans.
