Cornelius Dolmseth er en arkitektutdannet tegner som har spesialisert seg på håndtegning og beveger seg i møtet mellom arkitektur og kunst. Tidligere har Cornelius jobbet med landskap på Nordlandskysten og i norske hyttebyer.
Prosjektet "Massesenter" tar utgangspunkt i en jordsorteringstomt på Hovemoen i Lillehammer. Nå, i likhet med naturreservatet ved Lågendeltaet, blir området drastisk endret av byggingen av den nye E6. Tegningene utforsker hvilke landskaper og arkitektur som skapes og går tapt i sorteringen av jord, og skaper en norsk sci-fi satt innenfor rammen av de norske råvarene jord, stein og grus.
Cornelius forsøker å finne frem til det storslagne og underlige i landskaper vi er for kjent i til å legge merke til. Gjennom å konstruere volumer og lys gjennom påføring og fjerning av pastell, kull og fargeblyanter prøver han å gjenskape menneskers bevisste inngripen i landskapet og konstruering av arkitektur.

Cornelius Dolmseth is an architect-trained artist who specializes in hand drawing, working in the intersection between architecture and art. Previously, Cornelius has worked with landscapes along the Nordland coast and in Norwegian cabin towns.
The project "Massesenter" is based on a soil sorting site at Hovemoen in Lillehammer. Now, like the nearby nature reserve at Lågendeltaet, the area is being drastically transformed by the construction of the new E6 highway. The drawings explore what kinds of landscapes and architecture are created—and lost—in the sorting of soil, presenting a Norwegian sci-fi narrative framed by the natural raw materials of earth, stone, and gravel.
Cornelius seeks to uncover the grand and the strange in landscapes we are too familiar with to notice. By constructing volumes and light through the addition and removal of pastel, charcoal, and colored pencil, he attempts to recreate humanity’s conscious interventions in the landscape and the construction of architecture.
