Some of the top jumps horses, trained by leading trainers, ridden by the most successful jockeys in the land and cheered on by a sell out crowd combine to make the Coral Scottish Grand National the richest and best day’s National Hunt racing in Scotland.But that’s not all. Add in some fantastic entertainment before and after racing and you have the perfect ingredients for one of the best day’s out of the year !
And on April 22 the latest chapter in the race’s history will be written. Last year Welsh trainer Christian Williams achieved an amazing 1-2 with Win My Wings powering clear three fences from home to win by seven lengths from stablemate Kitty’s Light.
The crowd awarded the winner with a big Coral Scottish Grand National cheer as he powered home.
The main supporting race on the card is the Coral Scottish Champion Hurdle which in 2022 was won by Anna Bunina an Irish raider from the County Meath Stable of John McConnell.
Other races on the day include the Jordan Electrics Ltd Future Champion Chase, a Grade 2 contest, the Scotty Brand Handicap Chase, Listed Race and the CPMS Novices’ Champion Chase.
After racing the legend that is DJ George Bowie will play his GBX anthems in the Ayrshire Suite with the fun continuing for three hours. George is a huge favourite with the racecourse crowds and guarantees an epic end to a memorable day.
