About the Event:

Summer time is chaterelle season in the south. Come learn how to forage these gourmet mushrooms and other edible plants, berries, and fungi that grow in abundance right here in Baton ROuge.

🍄 Learn About Edible Plants and Mushrooms: *If nature provides,* we hope to find some interesting plants and mushrooms!

🌲 Explore the Trails: Waddill Wildlife Refuge offers a picturesque backdrop for our excursion. Meander along the winding trails, breathe in the fresh air, and immerse yourself in the outdoors.

A few notes:
  • There will be bugs, snakes, and heat. It's a short trail but it will probably get hot and muggy.
  • Hopefully, we’ll get some rain between now and then that will supply us with edibles. If not, we’ll at least have a nice hike and hopefully make some new friends.
  • Adults only please
  • Dress comfortably and wear sturdy walking shoes.
