Smoky Hill United Methodist Church Summer Movie Series - I Was a Stranger
This summer, the Smoky Hill United Methodist Church Racial Justice Task Force is hosting “Friday Night at the Movies” — a three-part film series focused on justice, compassion, understanding, and community.
We’d love to invite not only our church family, but neighboring churches and friends throughout the community to join us.

🎥 Just Mercy PG-13
Just Mercy is a powerful true story based on the work of attorney Bryan Stevenson. After graduating from Harvard Law School, Stevenson moves to Alabama to defend people who have been wrongly condemned or denied fair treatment in the justice system. The film centers on Walter McMillian, a Black man sentenced to death for a M**der he insists he did not commit. As Stevenson digs deeper into the case, he uncovers racism, corruption, and injustice woven into the legal system. Just Mercy is ultimately a story about mercy, courage, and the fight for equal justice and human dignity.
Come for the movie, conversation, and community. All are welcome.
