About this Event
A fun introduction to Cyanotype for teens over the holidays. This is a perfect gift or stocking stuffer for creative friends or family!
Cyanotype is a fascinating non-toxic printing process that creates a beautiful blue impression on natural fibres like watercolour paper. Once the paper has been coated with a photo-sensitive solution, items (like leaves, flowers, glassware, or transparencies) are placed on top and then exposed to sunlight or alternative ultraviolet light. After rinsing with water, you will have created a magical blue impression of the items.
In this workshop, participants will create a minimum of 4 different cyanotypes using a variety of items that I will provide. You are also free to bring any small items that you think will make an interesting impression (transparent glass objects are fun to experiment with!).
Ages 12-17 years.
Thursday, December 29 - 3:15 to 4:45 (1½ hours)
Price (includes all materials)
Community League Member = $25/ea
Non-Member = $27/ea
