About this Event
2022 Annual Conference
THIS YEARS THEME"The Holy Trinity"
For our fifth year, we’re bringing in some new friends to speak concerning five old truths, affectionately known as the doctrines of grace. They are also curiously known as the five points of Calvinism. It is peculiar that while Luther’s name is foremost associated with a denomination, Calvin’s denominates a theology. The riddle grows more complex when you realize that the five points of Calvinism weren’t so pointy until many years later.
Because our God is sovereign, false teaching proves a servant of truth. The ancient creeds of the church were crafted in answer to heresy. The five points came into sharp focus as a rebuttal of the five points of the Remonstrance of 1610. This was a document written by the Remonstrants, followers of Jacobus Arminius, who differed with the Reformed understanding of divine election and human freedom in salvation. In response, the Synod of Dort was convened and produced the Canons of Dort, the classic statement of the five points of Calvinism. It is owing to this Dutch setting that these doctrines have been associated with the tulip.
But these truths are much older than Dort. We could say we are gathering to study Augustianism, or, better yet, Pauline theology. But this would be to the chagrin of Peter, whose first chapter of his first epistle is especially fragrant with the Calvinist tulip. Worse yet, such a statement fails to see that these doctrines, being apostolic, means they are the first the teaching of the Christ who said that no man can come to him unless the Father draws him. These truths are older than the Reformation or any church father. They are rooted in holy Scripture. They are rooted in eternity past as the Father chose a people in His Son before the foundation of the word.
These truths have often caused controversy but that is not their function. As we gather, no doubt the truth will be contended for, but our chief aim is to enjoy these truths and see that the Calvinistic tulip is far sweeter than the Arminian daisy (he loves me, he loves me not...). These five points succinctly tell the story of man’s Triune redemption. Left to himself man is totally depraved, but the Father unconditionally elected a people, the Son definitely atoned for their sins, and the Spirit effectually calls them out of death and into life. Because of the redemption of the Triune God, the saints are certain to persevere in the faith as they are preserved by the God who has loved them so. We hope these truths thrill you and that you will make plans to join us for the 2020 Christ-Centered Churches Fall Conference.
WHO IS THIS CONFERENCE FOR?
This conference is for any Christian and is meant to challenge, equip and inspire you, from God's Word, to make Christ the center of all of life. In addition, we hope to promote Christ-Centeredness in all matters, in all churches, in an age of man-centeredness.
Additionally, this conference will be great for high school, college and young married couples, middle-aged, and older brothers and sisters, as we all are confronted with, and learning what it means to live in, a growing post/anti-Christian culture. Our aim is to present the gospel and the gospel-shaped worldview in a way that will equip people to understand the world in which they live, boldly stand for Christ and live for the Glory of God.
The Christ-Centered Churches Conference is free for any person who is not a Christian. We would love for you to come and observe what Christ-Centered worship and teaching are like and about. Our hope is to present the truths of who Jesus is and what He has done for it is through the preaching of the word of Christ that God gives new hearts beating with faith and repentance.
2022 ScheduleThe conference begins Friday, Feb 2 5th and ends Saturday, Feb 26th and includes lunch on Saturday as well as coffee and refreshments.

About Grace & Truth Books
Who are Grace & Truth Books? We are the family business of Dennis & Naomi Gundersen, a venture that began in 1993, with our four sons then at home (now all grown adults). Our sons have all had a role in the company: Ben designed book covers; David worked in shipping and receiving; Mike designed our first website and traveled to numerous homeschool conventions with us; and Greg’s artistic design talents were employed for interior artwork in our books.
In our 24 years of business, we’ve had the joy of ministering at over 300 homeschool events and nearly 100 Bible conferences, impacting hundreds of thousands of households.
Many of the 100+ books we publish are rare collections from the 1800s of stories for children, with strong character-building themes. Others are by living authors committed to the same God-glorifying focus of strengthening a reader’s walk with God. Many of these treasures have been out of print for decades, and our readers in both the United States and 30 other nations have been delighted to enjoy them with their families.
Our company name comes directly from a phrase in The Gospel of John, chapter 1, verse 17: “grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ.” To my wife Naomi and I, it seemed “Grace & Truth” would be a marvelous name for our ministry! https://graceandtruthbooks.com/
We hope to see you there!
