Initially reluctant to compose another "cowboy ballet," American composer Aaron Copland's "Rodeo" ballet premiered in 1942 to an impressive 22 curtain calls. (That’s a ton of curtain calls, but tenor Luciano Pavarotti holds the Guinness World Record for curtain calls at 165 — that’s likely to stand for quite a while.)The evening will include Barber’s Violin Concerto featuring Alexi Kenney.
