About this Event

The Coopersville Community Concert Band will be wrapping up our 20th season with a selection of exciting music and a big sound. Conducted by Luanne DeVries, the CCCB will be performing a variety of favorites. As this will be a collage concert, many members will be performing in several small instrumental ensemble and solo groups, featuring flutes, clarinets, double reeds, horns, and more.

The concert will take place at Coopersville High School Centerstage Theatre on Monday, April 29, starting at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free and all are invited to attend.

The band will perform the famous “Finale from The New World Symphony”, by Dvorak, the toe-tapping “Bullets and Bayonets” march, by John Philip Sousa, the refreshing, “When The Spring Rain Begins to Fall…”, energetic music from “Mancini!”, “Bugler's Holiday” featuring a trumpet trio and a powerful finale with “Arabian Dances”. The band will also be performing our very own commissioned piece, “Shadowdances”, inspired by the Coopersville community and composed by Kent Boulton.

The CCCB is an all-volunteer adult band. The group covers expenses by accepting individual donations given by generous community members and grants from local community groups.

A free pre-concert 20th Anniversary Celebration will be held by the Coopersville Area Arts Council from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. Enjoy hors d'oeuvres and musical entertainment from local student musicians. Donations will be accepted at the reception to support the CAAC student scholarship fund.
