Coomba All-Stars are set to release their long awaited debut single, Arrawarra.
Arrawarra is inspired by early morning summer hangs at the Indigenous ancient fish traps off the headland of Arrawarra/Gumbaynggirr, NSW.
Arrawarra/Yee Warra has been a significant meeting place and sacred site for the Garby people of the Gumbaynggirr Nation for millennia.
The song was recorded at Panic Room Studios, The Manor, Gadigal/Marrickville, mixed by Nat Love at Kangaroo Moon Recording, Darkinjung/Gosford, mastered by William Bowden at King Willy Sound, Kanamaluka/Launceston.
COOMBA ALL-STARS:
πππ‘π§π¨/ππ¨π«π₯π/ππ«π¨π¨π―π/πππ³π³
ππ¨π¨π¦ππ ππ₯π₯-ππππ«π¬ bring old world sonic architecture of Near East thought and Hindustani musical philosophies mixed with the stylings of modern culture.
With influences from India, Middle East and Africa, the Coomba All-Stars create an audio landscape, rich in texture and design, the Coomba All-Stars speak a unique and complex language through the medium of Santur (Coomba), Violin (Rocio Ibacache), Alto/Tenor Sax (Matt Lee), Bass (Tim Merrikin), Percussion (Rendra Freestone) and Kit (Tim Bradley).
Coomba All-Stars are fast becoming regulars on the Australian festival circuit having played Woodford Folk Festival (β25/β26), Bundanoon Folk Festival (β25) Majors Creek Festival (β24), Marrickville Music Festival (β24), Illawarra Folk Festival (β24), Hootenanny (β24), Global Groove Festival @ Sydney Fringe Festival (β23) and Bayside Festival (β23). They have shared the stage with crowd favourites such as The Strides, Rhythm Hunters, Midnight Tea Party, On The Stoop, Ile Ilu and Aljamia.
The music is a collection of thoughts and promises inspired by the wandering path of travelled experiences that have been gathered up during life and spread across an aural spectrum.

The Caravan Trio:
The Caravan Trio consists of Devi Mamak (Piano), Colin Berryman (Sitar) and for the first time joined by Chris Fields (Percussion). The Caravan Trio interpret traditional melodies and rhythms from India, Japan, Kurdistan, Mali, Egypt and Spain, and also play original compositions indebted to Erik Satie, Ali Akbar Khan, Beethoven, Tigran Hamasayan and others too numerous to mention.
These three invite you to an intimate show, evolved from the larger Caravan Band that have been playing together since 2020 and have performed sell out shows at various Sydney venues as well live at the village jazz festival.
Devi, Colin and Chris have deep roots in the music and dance scenes in Australia and overseas. Their convergence is unique, dynamic and unmissable!
