Cool the City Tree Giveaway

Southside ReLeaf is excited to give away up to 200 free trees to City of Richmond residents on Saturday, April 25, 2026, as part of our Cool the City campaign. Help cool and green your neighborhood by planting a free tree at home. Each household may reserve up to two trees.

Trees will be provided in either 2-gallon or 3-gallon pots. Two-gallon trees are typically between 10 inches and 2.5 feet tall, while three-gallon trees are typically between 1 and 3 feet tall.

Trees should be picked up in person during the event. A limited number of trees may be available for walk-ups, but reserving in advance is strongly encouraged.

For neighbors with limited mobility or transportation access, Southside ReLeaf will coordinate delivery and/or planting assistance through our volunteer network. We ask that residents who are able to pick up their trees refrain from requesting delivery so that we can prioritize those with the greatest need.
