About this Event
Mixing: The first 15 minutes will be spent letting little ones get comfortable in the space and meet each other. Then, around 1:15, we'll pour, measure, and stir our ingredients: flour, sugar, butter, etc. Grown-ups will get to decide whether their child uses real eggs or a flax egg replacement.
Kids will get to spread, press, and roll their cookie dough into circles!
A "no eating raw ingredients or raw cookie dough" rule will be enforced.
Baking: After the raw cookies are taken to the kitchen, children will hear a story about baking and will get to play, dance, and solve jigsaw puzzles!
For health and safety reasons, the cookies mixed and shaped by kiddos will be thrown away, and store-bought plain sugar cookies will be decorated. The children will be none the wiser đŸ¤«
Decorating: Each child will get 6 cookies to decorate. They'll use spatulas to spread icing, and spoons to spread sprinkles. Icing will come in a variety of colors including white. Families who avoid dyes are welcome to bring their own icing and sprinkles, but will need to be seated at a separate table to avoid any mix-ups.
Accidents happen, so even if you plan on only letting your child use white icing, and having them wear a smock, please be sure to dress them in clothes that you don't mind staining. The dyes in icing may stain clothes.
