About this Event
Jefferson Street has longed served as the crossroads for Black Nashville. What began as a footpath prior to the Civil War, this historic street developed into the financial, educational, cultural, and spiritual hub of the African American community. America’s focus on Urban Renewal in the 1960s threatened this vibrant corridor. Now, after decades of determination, Jefferson Street is reclaiming its voice through community-led revitalization. Join us to learn more about Jefferson Street’s historic role in our city and how it has thrived, and survived, over the decades.
