About this Event
WeDaArt: Conversations to Success
Bay Area Black Artist Showcase is a powerful community-centered experience bringing together art, culture, and mental health in one space.
Taking place on April 17th at Merritt College, this free event is designed to highlight and uplift emerging Black artists while creating meaningful conversations around healing, creativity, and community growth.
Inspired by the Harlem Renaissance, the showcase will feature live art, gallery displays, and live music performances that celebrate the richness of Black culture and expression.
A key part of this experience is our mental health and artist panel discussion, where artists, creatives, and community voices will come together to speak on:
- Navigating mental health as a creative
- Staying committed to your purpose and passion
- Overcoming challenges through art and self-expression
- Building community and support systems within the culture
This event is more than just a showcase; it’s a space for healing, connection, and empowerment.
In partnership with the Sankofa Umoja Program at Merritt College, we are committed to creating opportunities, awareness, and access for Black students and the broader community.
Attendees can expect:
- Artist Panel
- Artist showcase & gallery experience
- Live music performances
- Mental health & creative panel discussion
- Food, networking, and community connection
- The presentation of the For Da Culture Award, honoring impact within the community
This is a celebration of Black art, resilience, and the power of creativity to transform lives.
