Conversational Spanish

This is 10 session course, participants should register for one of the informational sessions prior to registering for this course.

Conversational Spanish is a course tailored for the City of Detroit employees.

The primary goals of this course are:
• To promote Spanish and language insight within Spanish-speaking countries
• To encourage practical application within employees' respective City of Detroit departments
• To promote cultural diversity
The pedagogical framework for Conversational Spanish is for participants:
• To acquire competency in practically conversing in the language
• To didactically immerse themselves
• To constructively build their Spanish-language skills
At the end of this course, students will be able to:
• Function at the NOVICE-HIGH level of proficiency according to the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) standards
• To develop familiarity with Hispanic culture
