The Kanata Choral Society will close their 37th season with a performance of Haydn’s Missa Brevis in F and Locus Iste and Ave Maria by Bruckner, showing the contrast between the lively music of Haydn’s Jugend Messe and the grandeur and spiritual depth of Bruckner’s music.
The programme will also include music by Mendelssohn and some madrigals to finish the concert.
The conductor will be Scott Auchinleck, the choir’s music director.
The soloists are; Bryanna Vanderlek, soprano and Cameron Hunter, soprano
Piano accompaniment will be provided by Eliana Kurilov de Castro with Carolyn Ho, violin; Will Fitzmaurice, violin; Stepanie Lachman, cello.
The concert takes place on Saturday, May 18 at 7:30 p.m. in St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 20 Young Road, Kanata.
Reception to follow in the Rutter Hall.

Tickets: adults $22 in advance or $25 at the door. Seniors: $ 20, Students: $10. Children under 13: free.
