About this Event
Continuing the Journey: Reflecting on a Decade of Truth and Reconciliation
In recognition of the ten-year anniversary of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Final Report, the Trent Teaching Commons (TTC) is relaunching the Continuing the Journey series with an afternoon gathering dedicated to truth and reconciliation.
The event will open with remarks from Dr. Kahente Horn-Miller, distinguished teaching scholar and Associate Vice-President, Indigenous Teaching, Learning, and Research at Carleton University. Dr. Horn-Miller will also join Trent leaders, faculty, and students on a panel discussion exploring how truth and reconciliation has been lived, practiced, and envisioned over the past decade at Trent and beyond. Panelists will share their experiences, reflect on opportunities and challenges in higher education, and speak to their personal commitments and goals for the next ten years.
Following the panel, all are warmly invited to a reception with light refreshments. This will be an opportunity to continue conversations sparked during the panel, connect with colleagues, and reflect together on how we can collectively advance reconciliation in the years to come.
