Continuance – Immersive Commemoration

Join us for Continuance – Immersive Commemoration, co-presented by Kaha:wi Dance Theatre and Woodland Cultural Centre.
Created to mark the reopening of the former Mohawk Institute Residential School, this immersive outdoor production transforms the site through light, movement, and live music. Rooted in the Ohen:ton Karihwatehkwen (Thanksgiving Address), the performance honours Survivors while celebrating Indigenous cultural continuance, resilience, and renewal.
Led by Artistic Director Santee Smith, Continuance builds on over a decade of artistic engagement at the site. Audiences will be immersed in breathtaking 3D projection, powerful choreography, and electrifying live music, with special guest appearances by Jeremy Dutcher (May 29 only) and Aysanabee (May 30 only).
This is more than a performance, it is a gathering, a commemoration, and a celebration of Indigenous strength, creativity, and collective healing.
