CONTEXT + VIVA PHX present Under Score at AZ Science Center's Dorrance DOME

Step inside a living conversation between sound and image in this one‑night‑only live visual and music collaboration. Produced by CONTEXT for VIVA PHX, this experience is  set inside Arizona Science Center’s Dorrance DOME, a 60‑foot immersive theater featuring an 8K+ resolution 360‑degree LED screen and 16-channel surround sound.

With each 60-minute atmospheric experience, you’ll witness the impromptu relationship between talented local musicians and a continuously evolving cosmos of imagery designed by the Arizona Science Center team specifically for the Dorrance DOME’s ultra‑high‑resolution canvas. As expansive visuals flow overhead and all around, Garrison Jones & Friends respond in real time, crafting in‑the‑moment music scoring that blurs the line between performance and discovery.

Drawing from improvisational, electronic, and jazz traditions, the ensemble builds a live, evolving soundtrack that breathes with the visuals—swelling into pulsing rhythms, dissolving into spacious textures, and returning in waves that move through the dome like weather. Rather than a pre‑written score, every note is shaped by what unfolds on the dome, creating a collaborative feedback loop between musicians, imagery, and audience that will never be repeated the same way twice.
