About this Event
Victoria will show you how to do this beautiful Japanese method of embroidery in a simplified way, without the pressure to adhere to strict stitch lines.
There will be a choice of kit from Victoria’s current Sashiko designs. All of the kits are suitable for beginners and employ simple stitch styles. Victoria will demonstrate all of the steps and the stitches.
A beautiful Sashiko kit is included within the workshop ticket price. and it will contain all of the materials needed to complete the project. All other tools will be available to use in the studio.
It is unlikely that the project will be fully completed in the workshop, but we will make good progress on it, and everything is contained within the kit to finish at home. Victoria will ensure you are well armed with all the information needed to complete the project.
This workshop is especially suitable for beginners to embroidery, as the stitches are very simple yet are used to great effect.
Kits can typically be made into needle cases, drawstring bags, or journal covers, and printed instructions are included.
Kit contents included in the workshop, and for you to take home:
· A choice of Sashiko kit from Victoria’s current designs. Each kit contains:
· A pure linen panel
· Daruma Sashiko threads
· Sashiko needles
· Embroidery pattern & guide
· Fleece
· Cotton webbing
· Some kits also contain wool felt, and wool blanket wadding.
If you have any materials, threads or embellishments that you would particularly like to use, this is very much encouraged.
