Join us for another passionate exploration of new moves and moods, tango meets contact improvisation, an inspiring and alive hybrid of two amazing dance-improvisation techniques.GABY KOCH is visiting Copenhagen, a great teacher and pioneer, bringing new life in to both tango and contact improvisation.
Gaby is a sought after teacher and dancer, based in Wuppertal, and we are happy to welcome here in Copenhagen.
CONTANGO is for dancers and movers interested in tango and contact improvisation.
This workshop presents a playful approach to tango technique, inspired by contact improvisation. We open up for new moves and a creative exploration of tango.
Are you a contact dancer, this workshop is a great opportunity to explore a different format of partner-dancing. Dancing with the music and the subtle invitations in tango, gives us new ideas for partner-work and improvised choreography.
We are building on your experience in either of the dance forms, and all levels are welcome.
Our dances will, when possible, be accompanied by live music.

MORE ABOUT CONTANGO :
Contango is the synergy of two dance forms, the flow and movement of Contact Improvisation through many levels and directions, blending with the structure of Tango, unfolding in the poetry of shared walking, of the embrace and play with music.
Both dances share aspects of improvisation in connection and togetherness. Our workshops offer time to dive into the depth of sensing the shared axis in Tango, to find a delicate connection, and to explore playfully within Tango.
We’ll let this flow into Contact Improvisation and explore from a light into a very deep connection, through skin, fascia, muscle and bone, towards small lifts and leans. We will grow, from simplicity into playfulness, and explore topics like spirals, momentum, empty space, following and leading, dynamics, sharing, taking and giving weight, stability and letting go, in both Tango and Contact Improvisation.
GABY KOCH lives in Wuppertal, Germany. She has been dancing and teaching dance for 25 years, and she organizes the international festivals of Contact and Tango in Wuppertal, Beichlingen and Barnin, hosting a lively exchange and research in the realm of Contango. Gaby is also a somatic movement practitioner, her interest is connection within our body, discovering new pathways, breaking patterns, and finding subtlety and freedom in dance.
