Summary of guidelines:
We create a safe, supportive and friendly environment however safety is ultimately your own responsibility. Be considerate and take care for yourself and for people around you.
There is never obligation to continue a dance and you may take a break and rest any time, you don’t have to explain why you leave a partner, just simply say thank you or nod.
Always articulate verbally and non-verbally that you want to slow down, want less weight or less touch.
Ci can be demanding physically and general fitness is helpful especially in more dynamic and acrobatic dances.
Through sharing attention, touch, weight and momentum, partners explore the physics of being in contact, and social questions that could not be addressed in a solo dance practice.
The process of bodies moving together in contact, in close physical proximity brings naturally intimate closeness however the ci space is strictly non-sexual and it is not a space to look for a date.
Although the practice creates a safe and trusting ground for healing and benefits physical and emotional health, helps to regulate social and relational boundaries, however it is not a therapy nor gives any therapeutic promises.
Ci is a close/full body contact dance practice, however we avoid intentional touch of sensitive body areas - inappropriate touch will be dealt accordingly and offender may be removed from the session or even banned permanently.
