𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗲, 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁, 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 🌸🌸
Step into a space where movement is both exploration and technique. Our workshops invite you to use the body as a medium, to play with weight, space, and connection, and to discover how new forms emerge through improvisation.
With several different teachers, we guide you through the many layers of contact improvisation—from learning technical foundations to engaging in intuitive research. No prior dance experience is needed—just curiosity, openness, and a willingness to move.
These classes are part of a 10 lesson cycle where you can join at anytime. Every two lessons, we invite a new teacher to bring their fresh perspective and theme. The first two lessons are aimed at first timers/beginners and people who like to go through the basics again. In later sessions we go more in-depth, but we still try to keep them accessible for beginners.

Everyone is welcome! Whether you’re an experienced dancer or just curious about exploring new forms of movement, these sessions provide a safe and inspiring environment to learn and experiment.This class is a place to learn, enjoy and explore. To make that safe for everyone, we expect participants to be able to take care of themselves physically and mentally within the setting of the class. If you have any doubts about whether this class is suitable for you at this time, please get in touch with us beforehand.

Cancellation & Refund
Cancellations are possible up to 72 hours before the start of the event. After that, refunds are no longer available. You are welcome to transfer your ticket to someone else.

✨ Monthly jams on 25 April and 23 May. On 21 June, we end the cycle with a jam with live music!
✨ After each class, the studio stays open for about half an hour. You’re welcome to stay, jam, chat, or enjoy a cup of tea together.

Some background information?
Contact Improvisation (CI) was developed in the early 1970s by American dancer and choreographer Steve Paxton, who combined influences from modern dance, ballet, and the martial art Aikido. His goal was to explore movement through touch, shared weight, and trust.
Playfulness and intention are at the heart of CI — but it is also a physical technique. Learning how to give and receive weight, roll safely, and work with momentum helps dancers move with more freedom and awareness. Like any skill, it grows through practice, making each class/jam richer and more creative.
𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗔𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗢𝗳 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲
Another Kind Of Blue is known for beautiful choreography mixed with technique. With international acclaim, we make shows where we fly with drones, use projections and are currently developing a VR experience.
However, we believe dance is more than perfection and technique. Therefore, we are embracing contact improvisation, a form where spontaneity and direct interaction with each other are key. We encourage people to let go of control, trust their instincts and each other and discover new, unpredictable movements.
