Nault/Valade present "sound construct ii" which is the second in a series of live freeform sound performances that use construction materials and tools in attempt to recreate specific satisfying noises found within a construction site. Also on the bill is Freakout City and Philia performing "Phalanx"!! PAYwhatUwant at the door which opens at 8:15pm. See more details of each act below-Nault/Valade
-“sound construct ii” an iteration in a series of live freeform sound performances by “Nault/Valade” that use construction materials and tools in attempt to recreate specific satisfying noises found within a construction site. A way to share the auditory surprises and nuanced monotony of hidden music within daily work routines.
This performance with include the implementation of two microphones and a loop pedal. The performers will be interjecting sounds into an empty timed audio loop, thus creating a sort of ever changing rhythmic symphony.
Freakout City
-High-powered space rock trio improvises their way into deep space(doxa) territory, mixing punk, prog, metal, and psych & resulting in a Freakout phenomenon
Philia
-Philia (Greg Hanec's solo music/aud-vid project) performs "Phalanx". This 25 minute work utilizes a three-station musical instrument set up and Philia moves between them to create a subtly changing sound/music atmosphere. Instruments involved are guitar/clarinet-alto clarinet/violin/trumpet/percussion/keyboard + recorder.
