The Smith County Bar Foundation and Tyler Junior College present Constitution Day 2022.About this Event
Great news! Constitution Day 2022 will proceed forward on Thursday, November 3rd, 2022, from 10-11am. Gerald R. Powell will be our speaker. Professor Powell is a former trial lawyer and recently retired as Professor Emeritus and Master Teacher and Abner V. McCall Professor of Evidence Law at Baylor University School of Law. He is also a published author, having written two novels, The Sporting House Killing and The Suspension Bridge Robbery. In addition, as many of you know, Professor Powell is a master storyteller and will be presenting his speech to the students titled, “John Adams, The Boston Massacre & the Rule of Law”. Tyler Junior College is our very gracious Presenting Sponsor, and we will be in their newly renovated Rogers Palmer Fine & Performing Arts Center auditorium. We are so excited to have Professor Powell agree to speak at our event and I know it will be an excellent time to celebrate Constitution Day as well as provide educational information to students on the founding principles and significance of the U.S. Constitution.
