Constellations: An Immersive Production
About this Event
Constellations: Immersive Production at Performance Works
Marianne, a physicist, and Roland, a beekeeper, meet at a barbecue and begin a relationship that unfolds across countless parallel universes. As their lives intersect and diverge through moments of joy, heartbreak, and humor, the play asks whether our paths are determined by fate or forged through the choices we make.
This production reimagines Constellations in a unique immersive format, inviting audiences to physically journey through the space into a series of interconnected environments that represent the play's many universes. Presented under a special licensing arrangement through Concord Theatricals that allows the story to be set in Vancouver, this gender-bent interpretation stars Taylor Long (King Lear, Of Mice and Men) as Marianne and Jessie Liang (School Spirits, Maid, The Night Agent) as Roland.
Directed and stage managed by award-winning artist Ava Maria Safai (Telefilm Canada's Foreigner, Ninja Gaiden 4), this production offers a fresh and intimate way to experience one of contemporary theatre's most celebrated love stories. Fans of the movies "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" and "Past Lives" will adore this show!
