Senior Glee (Friday class) presents Cinderella. This musical play is a bright version of the classic children’s fairy tale that has all the charm of the original story. You will meet all your favourite familiar characters including Cinderella and her stepsisters, the mean stepmother, the Fairy Godmother and, of course, the handsome prince. As well as some new characters including Cinderella's dog, Rover, who is not just a faithful friend but a talking pet! Jack Porter and Robert Neil Perry have added extra charm to their version with simple, spry musical numbers that add sparkle to this classic fairy tale. Book, music and lyrics by Jack Perry and Robert Neil Porter. Cinderella is directed by Chip McDaniel.
Senior Glee (Saturday class) presents Magic Tree House: Pirates Past Noon KIDS. This musical is an adaptation of the fourth of Mary Pope Osborne's award-winning fantasy adventure books from the Magic Tree House book series. This time around, Jack and Annie’s tree house takes them to an island with pirates in the eighteenth-century Caribbean! The siblings meet Captain Bones, a mean old pirate who captures the two and forces them to help him find buried treasure. It's up to Jack and Annie to find their way back to the tree house and make their way home, all the while discovering the power of friendship and the simple pleasures in everyday life. Book by Jenny Laird. Music and Lyrics by Randy Courts. Additional Lyrics by Will Osborne. Based on Magic Tree House #4: Pirates Past Noon by Mary Pope Osbourne. Magic Tree House: Pirates Past Noon KIDS is directed by Karen Rose with assistance from Tessa Macknak and Elizabeth Madsen.
Senior Glee (Thursday class) presents Seussical KIDS. This musical is great fun for the whole family! Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat and all your favorite Dr. Seuss characters spring to life onstage in Seussical KIDS, a fantastical musical extravaganza from Tony-winners, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat, our narrator, tells the story of Horton. Horton is an elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child, who gets in trouble for thinking too many "thinks." Horton's challenge is twofold — not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must also guard an abandoned egg that's been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. The powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged, but will they emerge triumphant? Book by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. Music by Stephen Flaherty. Lyrics by Lynn Ahrens. Conceived by Lynn Ahrens, Stephen Flaherty, and Eric Idle. Based on the works of Dr. Seuss. Music Supervised, Adapted, and Produced by Bryan Louiselle. Seussical KIDS is directed by Katlyn Redding and Gillian Engen.
