Discover how you can make a difference—right outside your door. Join us for Conservation in Your Own Backyard, a free community evening dedicated to exploring simple, impactful ways to care for our local environment.
Stroll the beautiful grounds of the Felt Estate while connecting with local organizations and conservation experts. Whether you have a sprawling backyard or a potted patio garden, you'll find tools, tips, and inspiration for nurturing pollinators, planting native species, reducing chemical use, supporting wildlife, and protecting our water sources.
The event features:
-Interactive activity stations
-Informational booths and handouts
-Conservation-themed crafts for kids
-Nature walks and demonstrations
Stick around for a special outdoor screening of Disney-Pixar’s A Bug’s Life at dusk! Bring a blanket, lawn chair, and your favorite picnic snacks for a relaxing evening under the stars.
Night Owls can stick around for the double-feature: Honey, I Shrunk the Kids! Followed by moth observation at strategically placed light stations.
Let’s work together to preserve the natural beauty of West Michigan—starting at our own homes!
