Event is free, but registration is REQUIRED! Register at pittsfield-mi.gov/recreationGet a jump start on Earth Month (April) by getting your boots on the ground on March 29th from 10a-2p. Join The National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) and Pittsfield Township Parks and Recreation (PTPR) for a collaborative effort to improve habitat at the Pittsfield Preserve. These habitat restoration efforts will improve nesting habitat for turkeys, but will also benefit pollinators, songbirds, waterfowl, small mammals, and many other species too. There are many specific needs at this location, and we plan to do whatever is most needed at the moment. We anticipate cutting woody invasive species and creating brush piles, but don't be surprised if we find different ways to get the work done!
Lunch will be provided by NWTF for registered participants only!
Supplies Needed: Just bring yourself, a few friends, water, shears (if you have them, there will be a few spare sets to use if you don't), and your work gloves, and we’ll supply the rest. We will keep track of volunteer hours, let us know if you need any "proof of service" for your own records.
We will be meeting near the parking lot off of Marton Road (address is 5400 Marton Rd. Ann Arbor, MI 48108).
